If you feel like complaining about the weather today, take a look at this video taken somewhere in Antarctica - this will make you appreciate your weather conditions a bit more…
If You don’t like this kind of weather, maybe it’s time look at brazil beaches

Ohh smbd actually needs sign saying - don’t go out in such weather??????What kind of idiot would try that? It must be US base I guess:)
August 4th, 2008 at 8:34 pm
Looks like it may be a research facility. Probably the U.S. Antarctic Resource Center. A lot of research gets done there for tons of stuff. I hear it gets so bad that if you get more than 10ft away from a building you can get lost completely and die from the elements.

i brought my togs too
August 4th, 2008 at 10:15 pm
hey tom, keep your negative mind-frame to yourself
thanks!!
August 4th, 2008 at 10:21 pm
f*** u tom.. why would it have to be a US base?
August 5th, 2008 at 12:51 am
I wish I could go to Antarctica, get really high, and make a video of me opening a door to another world
August 5th, 2008 at 12:53 am
Actually, the US did build the warm and safe shelter, but they probably do need the sign, to remind people not to go out in such conditions to save another non-US idiot who did go out. BTW, the next time Germany invades France, let them have it.
Besides, if it wasn’t built by the US, that entrance would have had a flag on the wall to make sure everyone knew who built it.
August 5th, 2008 at 12:52 pm
I worked in the US for a while…They are that stupid
August 5th, 2008 at 6:17 pm
“non-US idiot” are not only the French, Geraldo. And the rest of the world does seem to have an higher IQ than US citizens.
August 6th, 2008 at 2:11 am
pretty sure they do not send any idiots to Antarctica. I think you have to be a scientist or something like that.
August 6th, 2008 at 7:40 am
In Canada we live in Igloos and it’s -100c, oh and I ride my polar bear to work.
August 6th, 2008 at 11:22 pm
We don’t have idiots in my country, free from stupidity we are free to sit around and post snotty comments about the US.
August 6th, 2008 at 11:45 pm
It shows the mentality of the world that the very first comment on this would be about ethnicity…
God, people suck. I hope you all go to hell. F***ers…
August 7th, 2008 at 7:51 am
In Canada, milk comes in bags.
August 7th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
In Canada, milk comes in bags, named Emily - sometimes
August 7th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
Could’ve been UK, South Africa, or Australia if you look at the fact they were speaking English.

Trolls
August 8th, 2008 at 12:35 am
I live in America. Every day on my way to work I have to trudge through thousands of corpses of people who were too dumb to make it to their destination. Any time I require a service I enlist the help of foreigners or woodland mammals to accomodate me because the rest of the Americans have killed themselves within an hour of waking up due to their overwhelmingly poor intelligence.
August 9th, 2008 at 11:33 am
I live in America, and I’ll skip the politics (we kicked all your asses in all the most recent wars and we have the best economy of all time, ok I’m done)
You’re missing the point here, this is a beautiful meteorological phenomenon shown to us by a scientist who wants us to understand something we did not before. Yes Americans are stupid, but so are the Europeans (Jaques Chiraq anyone? he sold WMDs to Iraq) Germany? If they were smarter they would still be allowed to have a military, and they probably could’ve taken over by now..
but seriously, the point of all this is to show an alien landscape on a terrestrial surface, amazing.
August 9th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
Right. Those would be the woodland mammals from the lost forest of Antarctica? From the hidden gully protected from the elements by a magic bubble?
August 9th, 2008 at 4:20 pm
It never fails to amaze me that so many parents let their children play on the computer.
August 9th, 2008 at 5:53 pm
Who cares who it was, it was a cool video. You people who comment about off-topic shit must be 12. You shouldn’t be allowed online until you’re 21, can we make that a law somehow?
August 10th, 2008 at 2:07 pm
Well I have to agree. I am a U.S. Citizen and yes Americans are Retarded! I was born here and the School systems fail us, lost of bad things there. Hmm I wonder why? also the fact is yes we need ridiculous signs to tell us not to be dumb. I am not sure who has done this to us but it is true. Remember this statement “The truth only hurts those who deny it!”
Now you can cry about being stupid or just stop being stupid and take responsibility and change.
There is nothing I can do about it alone. too many idiots running about saying how stupid they aren’t.
I am assuming you haven’t seen the Americans are stupid videos on You tube. The statistics show it, Everybody know it but us haha! Gee That sounds like a bad joke. Like when all the intellects are gathered in a corner and make fun of the moron and then set them up for a big fall in the middle of Campus for a laugh. He haw jokes on us. But if were so stupid and the rest of the world knows it. why don’t you f^ckers stop laughing at us and help us? Al the antiquity and wisdom you have resulted in Materialistic Anchoring to one sided egocentric perspectives. Oh wait did you forget we came over from Britain haha! If you think were so lame why did you make us? Made a ball pit fill it with people make them into happy retards stuck in a Macdonald’s playland! and you laugh..Sick FU*KS. Put a damned stop to the nonsense .how can you let your fellow humans suffer as this?
Otherwise shut up and keep your arrogant asses out of AMERIKA (the land you created)and find something better to do with your lives then point and laugh at your Monsters.
August 10th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
lolatu, what the hell are you talking about? Kicked asses in recent wars? Ok idiocy at its finest. Nice representation of Our Citizens dumbass! Oh and by the way if you haven’t been watching global new..uh our economy is failing and the US dollar is devalued. Soon enough I wouldn’t be to shocked if our dollar is denied!
We owe so much money now to the big boy countries that it wont be much longer before Vinnie and the boys come giving a mafia style Beatdown. were not the best and surely not the most powerful. how the hell could we be. our nation is but a child in comparison to the Oldest of countries.
August 10th, 2008 at 8:07 pm
“I live in America, and I’ll skip the politics (we kicked all your asses in all the most recent wars and we have the best economy of all time, ok I’m done)”
ya really need to proof read your posts lolatu…or maybe dont start with “I’ll skip the politics” and follow it with political statements.
Oh by the way, I looked up the great Irish-American War, couldn’t seem to find it anywhere on the internet??! Prehaps you could add a little note the next time ya gloat about beating “all your asses”, stating ya haven’t yet fought us? Cheers
PS. They never found any WMDs in Iraq.
PPS. Germany has a military.
PPPS. The internet is a powerful tool for research, prehaps you could check your “facts” the next post you make
August 11th, 2008 at 9:20 am
yeah its a shame the first comment is anti the USA.
But i have lots of USA friends, work for a USA company… i’m someone who should like the US more than most.
however inside is a seething hatred of your country and what it is doing to the world. i try to suppress it, but it’s there. Like it is with everyone outside your borders.
not sure why. sorry

The United States isn’t just made up of the British. There’s also Irish, Scottish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Austrian, Russian, various other European nationalities, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Philippine, various other Asian nationalities, Mexican, Cuban, Haitian, Venezuelan, Brazilian, Chilean, Various other Latin American nationalities and let’s not forget the Native Americans. America has always been a place where various cultures can mingle and share customs, forever adding to The U.S. as a whole. At least it used to be. I can’t describe in words how amused I was to see someone complain about Mexicans while eating MEXICAN food and from what could be heard from the back, being cooked by MEXICANS. Did you know that a lot of French restaurants have Latino cooks? Personally, I think the Mexican wall is the worst, well not the worst, but one of the worst ideas this country’s had in a long time. I guess “The New Colossus” doesn’t mean squat in today’s world.
August 11th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
Before this whole biggoting rant and stereotyping people based on where they live relative to imaginary lines, I don’t think anyone was paying attention before they started commenting about having to have a sign and the people in the video must be stupid to have one.
I didn’t observe any windows to look outside in the video. (maybe one by the exit but it was covered in ice) So how is one to know the weather conditions without being able to see them? That’s why you have a sign that says ‘condition 1′ so you don’t have to open a door to look. The video was to show us such conditions that we would be unlikely to observe ourselves.
August 15th, 2008 at 3:18 pm
55 Knots = 101.86 Km/h
Just in case you were wondering….
Woooooooooooooooooooooow….
August 18th, 2008 at 5:27 pm
we sometimes have speed up to 120 km/h, but I guess the 55 knots is constant, not some gusts.
@David: yeey! someone who actually get’s it
August 18th, 2008 at 5:53 pm
Ah DS, finally a relevant post. One of the the only such things posted here. I was reading trying to find other peoples opinions about the video and found myself caught up in childish arguments about who is smarter than who. Well on an IQ test, my guess is that many people posting here (regardless of native country), would score very poorly.
August 19th, 2008 at 5:42 pm
People, get off the America is stupid crap. This video has nothing to do with that; so please stay on topic. The point of the video is to show us what a condition 1 is. I think it was a cool video, that kind of weather is difficult to imagine.
August 19th, 2008 at 5:48 pm
I must agree with the last few posts. Why did everyone go off on political tangents. This was just a cool video showing how insignificant human “power and dominance” are compared to nature. Pure power Baby. That is my dream job right there. Antarctica here I come. Oh, and bring a coat.
August 20th, 2008 at 7:12 am
Ok, I think the point would be this! Damn it is cold out there!!!!
Just so you people know, Stupid people are everywhere, they are in your house, your work, school, the bus, even the busy streets. I have seen stupid people in all colors shapes and sizes. There are stupid people on here! They made comments so off subject, there is no way they could get this:
The sign would be so no one could sue you if they did go outside!
(Example: “But your honor, nobody said he couldn’t go outside!”
“Sir you are correct, I order the defendant to pay 15 millions dollars for loss and suffering, and order that a sign be put up telling other dumb asses of this danger! Court is dismissed!”)

omg i was distracted by the flame war that seemed more interesting than the vid. I have to say I think there are a large percentage of dumb americans or at least very narrow minded ones, I have to say I feel threatened by your country because of its attitude and the way your “president” conducts himself these days I think its downright outrageous that its a publicity contest to get into power maybe we should be focusing on the bigger picture here don’t let the twats rule maybe the people who know what they are talking about the high IQ and the freakishly intelligent they have a better chance at bringing our planet and our race forwards. Anyone else of the impression maybe we should stop thinking about ourselves as Americans English Pakistani Chinese or wherever else but more as the human race? Together 6 billion (soon to be 7 i hear dunno if I’m right bout that) people should theoretically be capable of something amazing I believe there is so much more out there for us and we are just too blind too see it well thats my 2 cents say if you agree people or if you think I’m wrong I love criticism.
August 21st, 2008 at 9:00 pm
^ FTW ^ /debate
I’d love to visit Antarctica someday and experience such an amazing natural phenomenon. I’ve already experienced an F-5 Tornado and Hurricane Katrina as a Cat 2 storm. Not to mention the great blizzard of 1993. I’m hungry to experience more amazing and breathtaking weather phenomenon. That is, as long as I survive :^D
August 28th, 2008 at 7:05 pm
This video was taken at McMurdo base in Antarctica. I’m guessing it was building 308 or 309. Yes, it does get that cold, but there were also days when we would wear short sleeves and play ice golf. It also gets above freezing in the summer.
August 29th, 2008 at 9:07 pm
The video is amazing.
“…people should theoretically be capable of something amazing…”
And people are. As long as that something is stupid.
September 3rd, 2008 at 2:05 pm
How the hell does freezing your ass off in Antarctica have to do with Americans? Can someone please give me an educated answer? I guess the the monsoon rains in Bangladesh or hurricanes in the Atlantic will also give everyone a good reason to hate on Americans again.
Anyhoo….sweet video. I live in central Ohio and some of the idiots freak out if we see 6 inches, never mind all that static.
October 1st, 2008 at 12:30 pm
Anyone who knows about the whole IQ deal is aware that it’s basically a mental age thing, implying you have to be mature in order to be intelligent.
So a lot of us Americans snicker when we see a man dressed as a woman, big deal. Doesn’t mean we don’t know right from left. The lady in the video was having fun, she didn’t fling the door open to the point she wouldn’t be able to close it, or hop outside or anything to that degree. ‘That’ would have been stupid.
October 27th, 2008 at 5:12 pm
Lol,I’m American, never really thought I was stupid because I was though.I guess if I lived in another country it would be different. It must be really hard for people to be so much more superior to me,maybe next time they come by to give me the stupid American test I’ll study.
One thing I do know is to not judge people.I don’t know any of you other than the ignorant statements you make.Is that enough for me to say that you are stupid for your views?
Personally I think that it’s “understood” not to go out,you will die.lol,if not then wouldn’t it be best to thin the herd a bit?
November 7th, 2008 at 3:05 am
it was a very cool video - thank you for sharing such an experience with someone who lives in Houston, Texas, USA and has no idea what it must be like to deal with that kind of harshness
November 27th, 2008 at 12:22 am
ok to the very first comment that everyone was freaking out about…i think tom was kidding…so calm down
