Designer Daizi Zheng created this conceptual product for Nokia Corporation. Phone is powered by sugar. Special battery consumes  carbohydrates dissolved in liquid to produce energy. Author of project claims that one full tank allows to use phone even 3 – 4 times longer than on standard lithium-ion battery.

This experimental instrument was designed by Misa Digital Instruments. It’s similar to electric guitar but only in shape.  Kitara (official name of instrument) has digital interface designed to easily and intuitively control digital audio.

“Most musicians today use some form of audio synthesis or sampling in their music. Virtually any type of sound can be created using these methods. Traditionally, digital piano keyboards have been the dominant instrument for controlling these sounds real-time in a musical setting”.

Misa provides instrument that unites traditional guitar playing with digital sound and also allows guitarist to use playing techniques that are not possible on digital keyboard.

Kitara gives guitarist wide range of possibilities. Digital guitar has 24 frets neck (guitar hasn’t got strings so every fret has buttons), a multi touch screen and built-in polyphonic synthesizer. What it mean for guitarist? A wide range of music capabilities. You can apply various digital effects, including distortion, delay and modulation, and you can control these effects through the touch panel interface. You can even assign different effect to different string on LCD display. Kitara additional software runs on Linux and it’s open source what gives you chance to create and develop your music without any boundaries. Maybe with one small limitation Misa digital guitar cost over $800.

This concept vision of future outdoor tent is provided by Orange (the key brand of the France Telecom Group).  Solar tent is made of photovoltaic fabric (coated fabric) which is specially coated solar threads woven into conventional fabric. Special fabric captures solar energy which can be used for charging mobile phones or other portable devices.

Solar tent concept has also feature called “glo-cation”. How it works? If you would look for your tent on the campsite just send SMS message and it will start glowing in the dark. I wonder what would happen if many campers would look for their solar tents in the same time:)? Campsite disco.

Solar tent has wireless control hub that shows  information (on touch screen LCD display) what kind of energy was generated and consumed. Via this device you can also set desired temperature inside the tent because construction has heating elements. This wireless hub also provides wireless internet access.

The future of camping looks really promising.  It’s a shame that is only conceptual product.

This revolutionary way of making coffee was designed by Heo Jeong Im. Coffee stick  partly dissolves in hot water to leave a stirrer. It’s great but I think that real coffee purist wouldn’t like it.
